“The Sensei and his 2 students”
"Sensei Meaning: The One Who Has Gone Before"
"The best form of control is to relinquish control in it's entirety"
Think of 2 different people learning to fence, as in swordsmanship.
They both live with the same teacher. To start with, whilst doing chores around the house, as part of their training? the teacher attacks them at various times of the day separately using a soft wooden sword.. it hurts however it won’t cause any permanent damage, the students are supposed to grab anything they can see, touch in that moment, to defend themselves against the attack.
As time goes on in, in full expectation of being attacked both student are on high alert, constantly looking out of the teachers attacks, so the teacher always attacks from the opposite direction as to where the students expect.
One of the students eventually accepts, he can’t defeat against a surprise attack, simply let’s go - if it hits it hits.
The other student is still hyper vigilant.
By letting go, the first student is ready to start learning fencing.
The second is not mentally ready, because he hasn’t let go.
We are all the second student, including myself. However I’m aware (awareness is a key) I’m the second student and have made serious efforts into letting go, simply accepting through indifference, if it hits it hits.
The most important days of your life are your birth and death, neither of which you have control over.
Your most important achievements in this life will come from “Belief” not hard work and control.
“The universe is the Sensei”
“The attacks with the wooden swords are life’s tests and trials”
“Every living thing in the universe are the students, some let go far easier than others”
“Learn to let go and release control”
